KEMBU 剣舞, a Japanese traditional performing art that shows the sprit and the culture of the Samurai.

Kembu, literally meaning "sword dance", is one of the Japanese traditional performing arts. Wearing Samurai clothes, holding a sword and folding fans, the samurai spirit is expressed through this traditional performing art. In feudal times, samurai were said to perform Kembu to give themselves courage or to achieve mental concentration. In the movie "The Last Samurai" you can see the actor performing Kembu on the day before the battle.
We offers both Kembu shows and lesson programs for foreign tourists. Here is your chance to step into the shoes of "samurai" and experience the cultural heritage of Japan!

You can learn about, and practice, some aspects of the etiquette of samurai classes as well as practice basic Kembu, including how to use the Japanese sword.

◆Plan C: Demonstration show only
1 hour samurai Kembu show performed by our kembu masters with in-depth talks about the samurai and Japanese culture.

◆Plan F: Fan & Costume 
You can put on a samurai outfit and learn some practices of the samurai. You can also learn how to use the Japanese folding fan.
