Sustainability is business approach that contributes to sustainable development by delivering economic, social and environmental benefits for all stakeholders. We believe we play a part in driving a more sustainable growth of Japanese travel industry and the local society at large. Therefore, two community programs have been offered, where we focus on working with local authorities to preserve the environment and retain local culture.

A. Specific measures for environmental conservation
 1. Implementation of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) leads to resource saving and CO2 emission reduction that is a factor of global warming.

(1) Reduce = reduce waste (waste prevention)
  • Reduce wasteful paper printing. (Reduction of paper pamphlets, conversion of provided materials to data, viewing of meeting materials on a PC, in-house printing as much as possible on both sides, reduced-size copy, black and white printing, etc.).
  • Use our own bottles and mugs to reduce waste from PET bottles.
  • Use our own bag (eco bag) to reduce the amount of garbage in shopping bags.
  • Decline unnecessary packaging and reduce wrapping paper.
  • Use ceramics, reusable tableware, biodegradable, plant-based plastics instead of plastics and Styrofoam products (use of cans, glass bottles, paper/wood/bamboo straws, etc.)
  • Do not waste paper towels or toilet paper.
  • Do not have leftovers. (Reduction of food loss)
 (2) Reuse = use repeatedly
  • Strive to reuse unused items. (Participation in flea markets and reuse of stationery: ballpoint pen, highlighter pen, mechanical pencil, eraser, sticky note, ruler, scissors, stapler, clip, double clip, clear file, etc.)
  • Select products in returnable containers and, when finished using them, collect them for reuse. (Toner, etc.)
(3) Recycle = Recycling waste into resources (recycling/reproduction)
  • Dispose of garbage as instructed and thoroughly separate recyclable garbage. (PET bottles, eco-caps (donations), bottles, cardboard, newspapers, batteries, etc.)
  • Actively use recycled products and eco-mark certified products in consideration of environmental protection.
B. Specific measures for Socio- Economic- Nature
  • BOJT, do not support any sort of establishment in our supply chain where there is engagement of child labor.
  • BOJT, do not support and refrain supporting, promoting the activities related towards the cruelty or abuse of animals, such as visiting animals zoo, visiting shops where animals produce are sold
  • BOJT, supports the interested local community, works with them in building the capacity to cater the travelers by hosting them
  • BOJT, our tours are combined offering the eco-friendly activities where possible such as walking, cycling and using public transport
C. Power and water saving towards the reduction of CO2 emission, which is a factor of global warming

(1) Power saving
  • Only the required lights at blocks are turned on when coming to the office, and the last person leaving the block always turns lights off at the corresponding blocks when leaving the company.
  • Be sure to turn off the electricity, projector, display power, etc. in the unused conference room.
  • Set the temperature of air conditioning (cooling, heating) appropriately. (Do not lower the temperature too much or raise it too much).
  • Turn off the power of the PC display after hours.
  • Set electric devices to energy saving mode as much as possible.
(2) Water conservation (preventing waste of water resources and saving electricity (reducing CO2 emissions))
  • Try to save water in the toilet, handwash and sink.
